UoM crowned baseball Champions

Semi final and final stages of the Inter University baseball tournament took part at the Moratuwa University Grounds today, 3rd June 2012. UoP(PERA), UoC(COLOMBO), UoM(MORA), UoJ(J'PURA) were the semifinalists eying for the Inter Uni Baseball victory..

 

 

Firstly, PERA and MORA fought for a place in the finals. Both teams battled valiantly, but it was MORA who eventually made it into the finals.In the other semifinal, COLOMBO beat J'PURA to reach finals.

Before the all important final, it was the time for third place match, between PERA and J'PURA. Both teams were equally poised, but the lads from Peradeniya edged ahead of opposition with a score of 13-12 to bring PERA the third place.

Final was played between MORA and COLOMBO teams. Both teams took time to show why they are this years finalists with some crafty performances. The final ended with the score 17-16 in favor of MORA.

Overall, the level of competition and sportsmanship thrived throughout the tourney showing good signs for the future of university baseball.
