The second week of the Inter University Rugby Championship 2012 started out with a bang as University of Colombo went on a scoring rampage against University of Ruhuna. Center DhanushkaBandara scored four tries to his name and would have made a fifth if not for unselfishly letting one of his team mates acquire his own hat-trick. University of Colombo looked unsteady against an aggressive Ruhuna side in the early minutes and only led 29-0 at lemons. But the large margin helped them settle down and played a marvelous second half to score 86-0 at the end of the final whistle. The two half backs were instrumental in the Colombo attack, using strategic kicks as well as quick steps to cut through the defense. What was most impressive though was the team’s ability to stick to a clear game plan right till the end and play with superb team work and support. Skipper for University Colombo RishanMorseth played a game of true nobility and scored a try himself as the inside center but was more influential in letting his fellow center score for tries.
